Hello, wondering if anyone has a bearcat sc5540 chipper shredder on a subcompact. Found one for sale, like new for $1200. Specs say minimum 25hp at the pto and I have 18. Tied it out and chipped like a beast for hours. Only thing I noticed is the tractor struggled to get the flywheel turning at startup.

I have had my BearCat 72854 for 3 years or so. It is a PTO driven 8" chipper with hydraulic horizontal feed and electronic feed rate control. I like dedicated chippers as opposed to chipper/shredders. The shredder function causes compromises in the design.

This particular unit swings a 27 lb rotor with 2 knives at 3600 rpm, and it has 12 serrated knives for shredding. (I don't really plan on using the shredder)
