Separation of Co and Ni from a chloride leach solutions of laterite ore
In the production of Fe–Ni alloy from nickel laterite ore, the iron in the ores was first reduced by hydrogen gas and leaching of the treated ores with HCl solution resulted in a chloride solution in which the concentration of ferrous iron was around 90 g/L.In the leaching solution, Co and Ni and some impurity metals, such as Al, Ca, Mg and Mn coexist.
