Natron
Natron is a natural mixture of sodium carbonate decahydrate (Na 2 C O 3 ·10H 2 O, a kind of soda ash) and about 17% sodium bicarbonate (also called nahcolite [1] or baking soda, NaHCO 3) along with small amounts of salt (halite, sodium chloride) and sodium sulfate.Natron is white or without color when it is pure. It can be gray or yellow with impurities.

Calcination
Calcination is thermal treatment of a solid chemical compound (e.g. mixed carbonate ores) whereby the compound is raised to high temperature without melting under restricted supply of ambient oxygen (i.e. gaseous O 2 fraction of air), generally for the purpose of removing impurities or volatile substances and/or to incur thermal decomposition. [1] The root of the word …

Lime kiln
A preserved lime kiln in Burgess Park, London. A lime kiln is a kiln used to produce quicklime by the calcination of limestone (calcium carbonate). The chemical equation for this reaction is: . CaCO 3 + heat → CaO + CO 2. Limestone is poured into one side of the kiln, it is then heated up with hot air and quicklime [Calcium Oxide] comes out the other end.
