Diamond: Mineral information, data and localities.
The coexistence of diamond and carbonate minerals in mantle eclogites is explained by the reaction: dolomite + 2(coesite) <-> diopside + 2(diamond) + 2O 2 (Luth, 1993). Micro- and nanodiamonds in ureilites are shown to be created due to impact shock phenomena taking place on some small planetesimals.
